I drank some of this coffee this past weekend. It is the most expensive coffee in the world. Kopi Luwak. Selling at $100-500 per pound and produced in Bali, this coffee is made from the beans of coffee berries which have been eaten by the Asian Palm Civet (Luwak), then passed through its digestive tract. Yes. This coffee has been eaten, digested and then pooped out by a rodent-like/cat-like animal. The farmers dig through it’s poop to find the coffee beans still intact, and then sell them. Sound disgusting? Well it does taste different than regular coffee, but let me tell you, it was pretty good. I’d get some more if it weren’t so expensive.
